We are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Development to take a lead in the development of partnerships and projects to raise funds for our unique work. You will manage a team of six, comprising roles in fundraising, communications, community engagement and data management.
Location: Hybrid working set up is two days per week at the office in Chelmsford, Essex (would consider one day per week for interim role)
Hours of work: 30 hours over four or five days
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £43,000 to £46,500 full-time equivalent, pro-rata 0.8 FTE actual (£34,400 to £37,200 p.a.)

The Role
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Development to take a lead in the development of partnerships and projects to raise funds for our unique work. You will manage a team of six, comprising roles in fundraising, communications, community engagement and data management.
You will be a strong strategic thinker, and able to provide leadership, inspiration and direction around income generation through a range of fundraising disciplines and joint fundraising partnerships ensuring diversification of funding to help ensure the financial sustainability of the charity. Sources of funds will include: Major Grant Givers, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partnerships, as well as challenge events and a small number of individual donors.
You will provide strategic leadership and overall direction to the Communications team supporting the development and monitoring of the communications strategy, associated budget, resources, systems, processes and operations. This will involve the overseeing and implementation of a communications plan promoting the work of the charity to a broad range of audiences through a range of channels and campaigns along with increasing online and social media presence.
The Candidate
We are looking for someone with a strong, successful track record of fundraising and/or other forms of income generation in the charity sector including project and people management, and with proven experience in meeting targets, both financial and non-financial. You should have an ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including trusts and grant givers, corporates, major donors and other individuals. In addition to this, you should have strong knowledge of marketing and communication principles and practice, digital marketing and of using social media and be confident in engaging audiences sensitively with real-life stories to demonstrate impact and create a compelling case for support.
