Starting and finishing at Cirencester Basecamp, the route winds through beautiful countryside, peaceful villages and stretches of the iconic Cotswold Way. Whether you choose to walk, jog, or run, and whatever distance you cover, every step supports people living with dementia.

- A choice of distances to suit all abilities: 10km, 25km, 50km, 75km or 100km

Fundraising & Fees
As a small charity, we rely on the commitment and generosity of amazing individuals like you. By taking part in the Cotswold Way Challenge for Dementia Adventure, you’ll be helping to fund supported holidays, nature-based community experiences, and vital training for families affected by dementia.
To join the challenge, you’ll be asked to commit to a fundraising pledge—this covers your place and helps us continue our work. Fees and targets vary depending on the distance you choose:
- Registration fees range from £15 to £50
- Fundraising targets range from £150 to £575
For example, if you take on the full 100km challenge, you’d be asked to raise £395–£575, depending on your registration option. Shorter routes come with lower fees and targets.

Additional Support – the Ultra Challenge App
Good preparation and smart planning are key, and from the moment you sign up, you’ll get access to the Ultra Challenge App, which includes:

Where does it start and finish?
The challenge starts and finishes at Cirencester Basecamp, with circular or looped routes depending on distance.
Can I camp overnight?
Yes—camping and hostel-style accommodation are available at Basecamp and can be booked directly with the event organisers. (This is a direct cost for you, the participant.)
Do I need to be super fit?
Not at all—the challenge is open to a wide range of fitness levels. With several distances to choose from, you can pick what suits you best and take it at your own pace.
Can I take part with friends or colleagues?
Absolutely. These events are ideal for teams, and we can also support group fundraising.
What is Trailblazerz®?
Trailblazerz is a category for participants aiming to complete the challenge in faster times, often with a competitive or goal-focused mindset. It’s completely optional and open to runners or fast-paced walkers.
