The Cardiff Half Marathon is one of the UK’s largest and most exciting half marathons, taking runners through the heart of the Welsh capital. The route passes some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay and the Principality Stadium, with fantastic crowd support throughout.
With a fast, flat course and an electric race-day atmosphere, this is a great event whether you’re aiming for a personal best or taking on your first half-marathon while raising funds for Dementia Adventure.

Fundraising & Fees
By taking part in the Amsterdam Marathon for Dementia Adventure, you’ll help us fund supported holidays, outdoor experiences, and training for families affected by dementia. As a small charity, we rely on our runners to help us continue this work.
Costs (for both distances):
- Registration fee: £25
- Minimum fundraising target: £250
Your fundraising helps cover the cost of your place, with the remaining funds going directly to Dementia Adventure. Any fundraising above your target supports our work in full.

Training and preparation
A half-marathon is an achievable challenge with the right preparation. Many runners follow a 10 to 16-week training plan, depending on their experience and starting fitness.
Whether you’re aiming to complete the distance or improve your time, building up gradually and staying consistent will help you prepare.
