30th June 2026: Unpacking LGBT+ Experiences of Dementia

In this live session, we’re joined by guests to explore dementia and the experiences of the LGBT+ community.

We discuss the importance of inclusive support, community connection and creating spaces where LGBT+ people affected by dementia feel seen, heard and supported. The conversation also highlights some of the unique challenges faced by LGBT+ individuals living with dementia and those who support them, alongside the positive impact of understanding, visibility and tailored support.

14th May 2026: Unpacking Sport, Movement & Memories

In this conversation, Ruth is joined by Anthony from Golf in Society and Raja, Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, to explore the powerful role that sport and light physical activity can play in the lives of people living with dementia. Together, they discuss how movement — no matter how gentle — can support wellbeing, boost mood, and create meaningful moments of connection.

30th March 2026: Unpacking Blokes that Care

In this special Dementia Adventure Facebook Live with Scott Mitchell, husband of the late Dame Barbara Windsor, and John, who cares for his wife, we explore the experiences of men who care. Caring is still too often seen as something women do, and many men find it difficult to talk about their experiences, ask for help, or recognise themselves as carers. In this session, Scott and John share their personal journeys, reflecting on the challenges, rewards, and realities of caring. We discuss breaking down stereotypes, the importance of support, and opening up conversations about care as a man. This relaxed live discussion is an opportunity to hear real perspectives, ask questions, and be inspired to support men who care.

26th February 2026: Unpacking Continence

In this Live session we talk about continence and managing incontinence for people living with dementia. We share practical tips, ideas, and strategies that carers and families can try at home, and explore ways to support wellbeing, dignity, and confidence. We were also be joined by an Admiral Nurse, who offers professional insight and answered questions in a supportive, understanding way.

26th January 2026: Unpacking CST

In this session, we explore Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) — what it is, who it’s for, and how it can support people living with dementia in everyday life. CST is an evidence-based approach shown to support wellbeing, confidence, communication and connection, not just memory or thinking skills. In this conversation, we break CST down in simple, accessible terms and share why it can make such a meaningful difference for people living with dementia and those who support them.

18th December 2025: Unpacking Reflection & Gratitude

We’ll offer tips on adapting traditions to be more dementia-friendly, ensuring inclusivity and enjoyment during celebrations.

September 2025: Unpacking Sundowning

Address sundowning (late-day confusion) and share practical strategies to manage its impact. We’ll explore potential triggers, such as fatigue or overstimulation, and discuss calming techniques, environmental adjustments, and routine planning to alleviate symptoms. Understanding and addressing the causes of sundowning can improve evening routines and reduce stress for both individuals with dementia and their carers.

July 2025: Unpacking Community & Inclusion - with special guest, Scott Mitchell
