We are often asked for someone to come along to a small group to share what we do and our Community Connectors help us reach these local communities.
Whilst we get requests we know there are many people and organisations that don’t know we exist! Volunteers can approach their local dementia or carers groups to see if they can go along and talk to members. You can find local groups in many places by using your postcode:
- Carers Trust
- Carers UK
- Alzheimer’s Society
- Local Authority community directory – search for dementia support groups
- Local Church – search for carers groups
The following groups are also keen to hear about our support as many of their members are affected by dementia or know someone who is. They may also make a small donation as we don’t charge for our talks:
- Rotary Club International
- Women’s Institute
- Lions Club International
- University of the Third Age (U3A)
- The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs
- The Oddfellows
- Round Table
- Townswomen’s Guild
- National Association of Tangent Clubs
- Ladies Circle
- 41 Club
- National Federation of Young Farmers
Make contact using our About Dementia Adventure Introduction email template and then follow up with a phone call if you don’t get any response.
There’s lots of support to help you deliver an informal talk with confidence and you can order some leaflets and photobooks which always go down well!
