Fundraising – Neil’s story

Neil

Neil boosts his fundraising with matched funding from his employer.

Neil completed the Nuffield Health Eton Sprints Triathlon. He raised over £700 through donations from his friends and family but he also received a massive £300 in matched funding from his employer.

Many organisations offer match funding as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. At first Neil wasn’t sure if his employer would be able to help.

Neil says ‘I decided I should ask, just in case. I contacted my CSR department who sent a form for the charity to complete. It was really easy to do. It didn’t cost me anything and it meant I raised a lot more money’.

Kath, Fundraising Manager at Dementia Adventure says “There’s a growing list of companies that will match their employees’ donations to charities so it is always worth asking your employer. Some organisations will match fund on a £ for £ basis, others will stipulate what they are prepared to give up to a maximum.”

Well done Neil on reaching such a fantastic target to directly benefit people living with dementia.
